I finally replaced my Squee! book.

I figure I'll have plenty of time to read it during the weeks to come. Work has been slowing down alot. yay.

I need a dog therapist. Or psychologist. Or something.

For the second time in about a month, I've come home after a normal day away to find a MESS in the kitchen. Puck tore open two bags of cat litter (which the cats then christened) and tore off a good portion of the veneer on the bedroom door. Apparently, she realized this was a bad thing (!) and hid herself behind the STOVE when we got home. Dumbass dog. Lots of other stuff was just knocked over or around so I imagine it started with a chase after the cats and then just pure stupidity took control. Hooray. I have a mentally unbalanced dog.

I guess my paycheck is going towards a kennel for her because this is nuts. I can't clean up after her every time she makes a mess and then just hope she doesn't do it again. It's clearly not working.

In other news, the neighbour kid came by wanting to borrow something and spent about 5 minutes talking to me and trying to look inside the house to see what had changed since the last time he was over. Odd child. He saw the flier I have up in the window and asked what it was there for. I admit the 'HAVE YOU SEEN MY KITTY?' may have been vague but the picture and the description, ending with a phone number, really ought to have clarified things a bit. Hello, Captain Obvious.

Last night I told myself I wouldn't cry myself to sleep and it almost worked.

My heart is so very far from me.

Playboy faces age discrimination lawsuit
Thursday, May 20, 2004 Posted: 10:47 AM EDT (1447 GMT)

CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- A Playboy editor who was fired after more than 30 years with the company filed a federal suit, claiming he was dismissed because the magazine wanted a younger staff that might attract younger readers.

The suit, filed Wednesday by John Rezak against Playboy Enterprises in U.S. District Court in Chicago, seeks unspecified damages, including back and future pay.

Rezak, 54, was an associate managing editor when he was fired last November.

Ok, so he was told his job was relocating to New York and that he wasn't invited because of a "difference in sensibility and a duplication of skill sets". Then someone younger gets to do his job. And he's mad.

Ya work for PLAYBOY and ya don't see THAT one coming? No wonder they fired his ass.

Since last night, I think I've spent about $100 on wedding stuffs. I feel better, tho, knowing I'm actually getting things together for the reception and whatnot. Now all we have to do is book the caterer, book a bakery for the cake (CHOOSE a cake!) and sort out seating, rehearsal and vow stuff. I think. I think that's all. I hope that's all. I don't remember anything else right now but I'm sure it'll come flooding back when I have no more money.

Young parents charged in twins' deaths

BALTIMORE, Maryland (AP) -- A couple was arrested in the deaths of their 1-month-old twin girls who had fractured skulls and ribs and had signs of severe malnutrition.

The deaths came five months after the couple's 2-year-old daughter had been placed in foster care for abuse and neglect, officials acknowledged.

The parents, Sierra Swann, 17, and Nathaniel Broadway, 24, were arrested Friday and ordered held without bail on Monday on two counts each of first degree murder and child abuse causing death. Neither had a lawyer.

Student drinks lab chemical on a dare
Youth found bleeding from nose and mouth in hallway

ODESSA, Texas (AP) -- A student who drank a chemical from his high school lab on a dare was recovering in a hospital, but not before a scare.

The student drank the unidentified chemical on a bet at the school, said Nancy Smith, a UMC supervisor.

"We need to find out what it was from the toxicologist," Assistant Principal Ray Lascano said. "All of those materials belonged to one of the chemistry labs."

The student was found last Wednesday in a school hallway, bleeding from the nose and mouth.
